Create! Magazine is a proudly independent, women-owned, artist-run platform dedicated to amplifying the voices and works of emerging and mid-career creatives from all corners of the globe. Our mission is to provide an inclusive, supportive, and transparent space for artists of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to share their stories and art with a broader audience.
We are excited to announce our latest juried call for artists. Selected artists will receive a custom-designed two-page spread in our publication (available in both print and digital formats), showcasing your artist biography, website, and two images of your artwork.

Create! Magazine is pleased to announce the open call for our Spring 2026 print and digital issue. In an era increasingly defined by automated imagery, this edition returns to the source: the human hand and the tangible pulse of creation. We are looking past the four walls of a workspace to celebrate the heart of the creative life.
Curated by Tanner Steslow and Max Berman of Square One Gallery, Issue No. 57 explores the raw, intimate, and sometimes messy reality of being an artist. We are interested in the honesty of your practice and the authentic, human journey behind your finished work.
About the Theme
While the title is "The Artist's Studio," this is an open ended call. We invite you to interpret the theme in the broadest sense possible. We are not looking for a specific subject or style; instead, we are looking for work that reflects the honest nature of your current practice.
All subjects and mediums are welcome. Whether your work explores your literal environment, the internal creative process, or represents the current focus of your studio time, we want to see what you are creating now. We are seeking fresh, authentic voices that demonstrate a dedicated commitment to their craft.

Square One Gallery is based in St. Louis, Missouri and is dedicated to transparency and artist advocacy. Curators Tanner Steslow and Max Berman believe that without the artist, there is no art. Their mission is to preserve the integrity of the creator, making them ideal jurors for artists seeking a fair and career focused selection process. Their program focuses on connecting emerging and mid career voices to the international arts community.
Professional Visibility
Selected artists receive a high level platform to elevate their portfolio:
- Professional Layout: A four page spread in the print and digital magazine.
- Global Visibility: Access to an international audience of curators and collectors.
- Digital Presence: Features across our website and social media platforms.
- Artist Copy: A complimentary digital issue with an option to order print.
Submission Guidelines
- Eligibility: Open to all artists worldwide in any medium. AI generated work is not accepted.
- Requirements: Submit up to 10 works (cohesive series preferred).
- Written Materials: Artist bio and statement (up to 300 words each).
- Deadline: March 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.
- Jurying Opens: April 1, 2026.
Submission Fee and Mission
Fee: $35 for three images.
Create! Magazine is run by an artist led team. Your fee directly supports the publication by allowing us to fairly compensate our guest curators, writers, and designers, while covering the technical costs of our open calls.
