Create! Magazine is a proudly independent, women-owned, artist-run platform dedicated to amplifying the voices and works of emerging and mid-career creatives from all corners of the globe. We are excited to announce our latest juried call for artists. Selected artists will receive a custom-designed two-page spread in our publication (available in both print and digital formats), showcasing your artist biography, website, and two images of your artwork.

Create! Magazine is pleased to announce the open call for our 2026 Women’s International Edition. This annual print and digital issue highlights exceptional artists whose work contributes meaningfully to today’s creative landscape.

This year’s edition is curated by Sonia Borrell, an internationally respected art collector, curator, and advisor whose global perspective and dedication to supporting artists bring a discerning vision to the selection process. This special issue celebrates artistic excellence, clarity of vision, and the diverse practices shaping contemporary art today.

About Our Guest Curator

Sonia Borrell (@soniabblondon) Art collector, curator, advisor, lawyer, writer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur.

For nearly two decades, Sonia Borrell has cultivated one of the most dynamic private collections of contemporary and figurative art. Since founding the Tryson Collection in 2008, she has championed artists from Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain, and beyond.

Her collection has been exhibited at major institutions including the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, the Thyssen Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid, and the Museo Novecento in Florence. It includes works by Alex Katz, Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, Jaume Plensa, and Robert Nava. Through her Soniabblondon platform, Sonia supports emerging artists and collectors while fostering meaningful international connections.

She also advises Art Belina in China and The Althari Group in Saudi Arabia. Her vision and collection have been featured in GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Women’s Herald, L’Officiel, and other leading publications.

Sonia’s philosophy reflects her mission: Art lovers follow movements. Art collectors move them further.

Eligibility & Guidelines

  • Eligibility: Open to artists interested in participating in an issue highlighting the creative contributions of women in the arts.
  • Mediums: All artistic mediums and styles are welcome, with the exception of AI-generated work. Art created using AI tools will not be accepted at this time.
  • Education: No academic background is required.
  • Theme: Open Theme

Submission Requirements

Artwork

  • Submit up to 10 works.
  • Submitting a cohesive series or related body of work is encouraged.
  • Format: High-resolution JPEGs at 300 DPI are required.

Written Materials

  • Artist Bio (up to 300 words).
  • Artist Statement (up to 300 words).

Submission Fee $35 for three images. The fee is non-refundable.

What's the fee for? Your submission fee directly supports the sustainability of our independent, artist-run publication. It helps fund contributor compensation, essential platforms and storage, website maintenance, editorial design and production, and the operational costs required to publish each issue. Thank you for supporting an artist-run platform committed to amplifying creative voices worldwide.

Terms and Conditions

  • Artists retain full copyright and ownership of their work.
  • Selected works may appear in Create! Magazine print and digital formats and across promotional materials including our website and social media.
  • Published artists receive a four-page print feature and online visibility.
  • A complimentary digital issue will be provided to published artists.
  • Selection is competitive and juried. Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
  • All fees are final.
  • By submitting, artists grant Create! Magazine permission to publish selected works in Issue No. 56 and related promotional materials across print, digital, and social platforms.

WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE AN OPEN CALL FOR EMERGING ARTISTS LOOKING TO SELL WORK WITH PXP CONTEMPORARY, AN ONLINE GALLERY AND CURATORIAL PLATFORM.


PxP Contemporary is pleased to announce a new call for artists for potential representation, special collection releases, online exclusives on Artsy, and in-person or online exhibition invitations in 2025 and beyond! The gallery has primarily shown painting, sculpture, mixed media, collage, and limited edition prints in the past but is open to any media that you believe fits our program and also those who create handcrafted goods and products for our Maker of the Month collections. We look forward to reviewing your submissions and hope to work with you!



Information and eligibility



 

  • Artists 18+ working in any medium are welcome to submit work that is currently available for sale and is priced between $100-$10,000 retail value. If you are not accepted at this time, we keep all artist submissions on file and consider applicants for future projects, exhibitions, and media features. 



 

  • A fine art degree is not required to participate in our open call. This is an open call with no specific theme. We work with artists from around the world so you do not need to be based in the US to apply. 



 

  • Please note that if your art is selected, we work on consignment and expect that the specific artworks chosen (which are agreed upon with each artist's approval) will not be booked for exhibitions with other galleries for a period of three months. This timeframe is flexible if the artist's works are chosen solely for an online show/collection with the gallery. If work is selected by our curator, artists will be contacted for additional information and images. You will be asked to sign a standard gallery/artist contract. 



 

  • Artists do not have to only submit works that are currently available for sale since we want you to show us your best work, however, we will only exhibit art that can be purchased. 



 

  • Gallery artists should prepare quality photographs of each work that will be featured on our website, including images of details and the art in situ, in order for potential buyers to have a complete visual representation of your piece. We prefer if you also have video content of your artwork although you do not need to submit this in your application.



 

  • On any works sold via our platform, the gallery will charge a 30% commission and the artist will receive 70%. For works under $100, the artist receives 85% and the gallery 15%. Gallery commission should not be added to the artist's normal selling price - no exceptions.



 

  • The buyer of the artwork will cover shipping costs and the gallery will cover any difference if necessary. US-based artists will be given prepaid labels to ship their artwork. Internationally-based artists will pay for the shipping up front but then be reimbursed in full after submitting the receipt and tracking number to the gallery. 



 

  • Artists are responsible for properly packing the sold work according to industry standards as well as taking it to a postal location. 



 

  • Artwork will be sold as is with no refunds (hence the emphasis on accurate, high-resolution images of your work) and artists will be paid on net-30 terms after the buyer receives the piece. 



 

  • All art will be insured in full when shipping to protect the interests of the buyer, gallery, and artist. 



 

  • Works can be offered framed or unframed, but must be finished, dry, and ready to ship if accepted.
