Create! Magazine's Issue #47 isn't just a publication; it's a platform for your creativity to be seen and celebrated.
Selected works will be included in the print issue available by the end of 2024 and distributed in indie bookstores and through gallery partners like Delaware Contemporary, Paradigm Art Gallery, and Square One Gallery. Artists can review and edit their spread before printing, and all featured artists will receive a free digital edition of the magazine.
About Our Guest Curators: The TAX Collection
Founded in 2015 by Tanner Steslow and Max Berman, The TAX Collection is a multi-modal curatorial platform aimed at providing agency to emerging and mid-career contemporary artists worldwide through public exhibitions, installations, and commercial projects. At their core, Steslow and Berman operate from the position that "without the artist, there would be no 'art'", advocating that in this digital age, now more than ever, artists can acquire the tools to control their own narrative, better negotiate their relationships with galleries, and develop independent, lasting relationships with their collectors and institutions. With almost a decade of experience curating and advising close to 100 exhibition programs and numerous public works projects, The TAX Collection continues to act as a champion for the 'artist' in all aspects of their practice.
For their latest venture, they've partnered with artist and entrepreneur Ted Collier to open Square One Gallery. Located in the historic Central West End of St. Louis, Missouri, Square One Gallery, established in 2024, strives to showcase contemporary artistic voices while connecting St. Louis to the greater international arts community with a diverse, global roster of exceptional artists.

Welcome to Create! Magazine, a vibrant platform that has been dedicated to uplifting and promoting the work of contemporary artists since its inception in 2013. Initially launched as Fresh Paint Magazine, we evolved into Create! Magazine in 2016 with a renewed vision: to shine a spotlight on the phenomenal talents of emerging artists across various mediums. Over the years, we have had the privilege of featuring thousands of artists worldwide, delving into the narratives, inspirations, and creative processes that fuel their work. In Issue #47, artists handpicked by Tax Collection were not only featured in our print and digital editions but also gained access to our extensive global online network of over 200,000 artists, curators, collectors, art professionals, and enthusiasts. Create! Magazine has been honored with features by prominent media outlets such as Colossal, NYPost, Apartment Therapy, and The Jealous Curator, to name a few. Additionally, we have forged partnerships with esteemed art fairs like Art Miami, Moniker, Affordable Art Fair, and Superfine, and collaborated with renowned brands like Minted.

Eligibility
Our calls for entry are open to all artists from every country unless we have a special edition that highlights a specific topic or interest. All styles and media are welcome. There are no educational requirements to apply to the open calls.

Requirements
- Artists may submit up to 10 individual pieces of work for consideration.
- Artists must ensure high quality of images; we recommend 300 dpi jpeg.
- Artwork images and bio must be uploaded directly to the form.
- Bio and statement must be under 300 words each.
- Artwork does not have to be for sale (you can submit work that's already been sold or is in a private collection).
- You can submit artwork that's been previously published.
Important Dates:
- Entry Deadline: June 15, 2024, 11:59 pm EST.
- All artists will be notified of the final decision by July 30, 2024. If your work is selected, you will receive further information at that time.
- Submit your art today for a chance to be featured in our prestigious art magazine. Selected works will be included in the print issue available by the end of 2024 and distributed in indie bookstores and through gallery partners like Delaware Contemporary, Paradigm Art Gallery, and Square One Gallery. Artists can review and edit their spread before printing, and all featured artists will receive a free digital edition of the magazine.
Submission Fee:
- Submission fee is $40 for 3 images (non-refundable).
- The limit of submitted artworks is 10.
- Bio word limit: 300.
- Statement word limit: 300.
We understand that not everyone is able to pay a submission fee. We offer free opportunities (like Studio Sundays) for artists as well. Please note that the submission fee helps support our art community, sustain our operations, compensate curators and writers. If you are unable to pay the fee, you may still submit to our free blog features (available several times per year).
Agreement
Create! Magazine reserves the right to use images of the artwork on its website and social media. By submitting artwork via this call, the artist agrees to the terms outlined above. The artist submitting their work understands that inclusion is not guaranteed as this is a juried opportunity. Artist retains full copyright of the work. Images will not be used by Create! Magazine aside from the print issue, interviews, social media posts, and other promotional activities.

- Benefits of Being Featured: Published artists will receive promotion on our website and featured spots on our social media platforms.
- Submission Requirements:
- 5-10 JPEG Images: Provide high-quality images of your work.
- Website or Social Media Links: Include links to your website or social media profiles.
- Written Bio and/or Statement: Share a brief biography and/or an artist statement.
- Studio, Process, and Materials Images: Showcase your studio, creative process, and the materials you use.
- A Headshot: Include a professional headshot of yourself.
- Notification: Due to the high volume of submissions, artists will only be notified if their work is accepted. Notifications will be sent via email or by tagging artists on social media.
- AGREEMENT: By submitting artwork via this call, the artist agrees to the following terms:
